Every once in a while, as it happens to be,
I wonder in life what's worth waiting to see
What's worth letting run past 'til it stops at your feet
When you know it might not stop at all
You ask what I'm trying to get at with this
I just wonder what chances in life I might miss
My name up in lights or that all-curing kiss
Or the chance to let go and just fall

You know I'm just a dreamer
I just wonder what's out there for me
I know I'm far from a hero
But that might be what I want to be

The destinies followed, the prophets defied
I let them remind me that I am alive
That the choices I make will be changing the skies
And can make or could break my falls
There's no way in Hell I'll just stick to your plan
If it goes against all that I want and I am
I won't be content being fed from the hand
That strikes me for being my all

You know I'm just a dreamer
I just wonder what's out there for me
I know I'm far from a hero
But that might be what I want to be

When defying the plan will decide that I'll lead
no subjects but others like me

I've always been a dreamer
but a hero's life isn't for me
I won't just do what I'm asked to
for the sake of just making them see
that I'm so far from a hero

As one writer put it, those who take the status quo and obey the law are treated as benefactors and heroes, while those who rebel because they believe the law is wrong (think civil rights movements) are treated as criminals.

Not to say that I'm going to become some sort of rebel and use this as justification or anything. Just pondering things and getting around to writing again.

EDIT: OOPS. Some of the lyrics were mixed up. Fixeded. Sorry about the update if you guys get it.

Whao, dude, you demonstrate a good knack for writing lyrics. Ever write the melody for any of your lyrics?

Thanks a lot. ^^ Yeah, I actually have written melodies for some of them, but I think this is the only one I wrote actual accompaniment for on the guitar. I'm still working out kinks and seeing if I can make it flow better, because the shifts between chords are awkward for a starter on the instrument. I've been considering making the guitar a melodic part instead of playing blocked-out chords. But I've been really lazy about working on that. >.< Now that I've graduated from high school I should have enough time to play around with it.
